K-PAX !
Okay so I'm only 30 minutes into a two hour movie, K-Pax, starring Kevin Spacey as "Prot" (pronounced as if there was a silent e at the end, rhymes with "wrote")
ITS FUCKING AMAZING. Everyone needs to see this movie. It's pretty and funny and Kevin Spacey does his "i know everything but i'm going to speak very slowly and calmly" thing that he rocks at. Also the musical score is really pretty.
and if my ranting really quickly doesn't encourage you, look at how Netflix describes it:
Kevin Spacey plays Prot, an extraterrestrial from the planet K-Pax (Or so he'd have us believe). Psychiatrist Jeff Bridges doesn't buy any of Prot's bilge -- that is, until the Ray-Ban-wearin' spaceman starts talking to dogs (and understanding them!) and pulling off other artful tricks like a funkified Mary Poppins. It's entertainment so far out, all we can say is "Beam us up!"
