Yes, it's summer, and has been for some time now. Gosh, I haven't written about so much in so long it's like gonna be impossible for me to remember it all and write it.
Well like 2 weeks ago I applied to work on this movie in filming in the city in June. I went down to NYC with Mike and luckily found this hood, and the people there were really nice and it seemed like it'd be cool just doing shont on set. Unfortunately, they wanted me there at SIX in the morning, which means I'd have to get a train at like 4:30, which means I'd have to get up at 4, set my alarm for 3:30 so I could be up by 4, write myself a note at 2 to remind myself to wake up at 3 so I could set my alarm for 3:30. So I told them that could not h, but that I could get there around 8:30 or 9 and they said maybe I could help out in the office, go to the set later in the day or on weekends. Anyways, this was a while back now, and I haven't gotten a call or email, so I guess they found someone else who could get there at 6.
Oh well, it was a fun day anyway. We wandered around China Town, and then we stumbled right into this area with a bunch of music stores, including a big Sam Ash. I had my alto mouthpiece with me and got to play some bomb instruments, Mark VI and the newest Selmer Ref 54 Hummingbird edition, which was better at least than that particular Mark VI.
Hmm...so then I had more finals...consisting of finishing my movie and then showing it in class and showing up to Creative Writing. So no big deal. Mike came up one day and we went to Shakespeares to look for old games, specifically Secret of Mana. They didn't have it, but we were looking through the SNES games and one game, Populous, was marked "FREE." Like, not $2.99 or $5.99 or anything, and not like there was no price so they gave it to us, they took the time to put the sticker on it and write "Free." Anyways, we thought it was hilarious, and the guy unlocked the case (haha) to get out the free game and gave it to us. Luckily, it's the most complicated game ever and completely impossible to figure out what to do.
The last two nights of school I played Star Wars Trivial Pursuit with Steve and Tony (and Chuck for small stretches). Man, it is a totally different experience than regular Trivial Pursuit. Normally, the game never completely finishes, you're praying for someone to get one right, and it's mad hard. Here, we all knew like everything, so we were praying someone would get one wrong just so you get a TURN! Haha, yeah, we played three games the first night and then watched Empire Strikes Back cuz we were so pumped. I moved out on the 12th, which was pouring rain, and which totallly sunked. But I got everything home without totally ruining it, so that was good.
Zach had his graduation party on the 13th at this Asian restaurant in Westport and then we relocated to Sprite Island and then Chocopologie in SoNo. Really fun day, got to have mad food and stuff I never had before and then chongled out on Sprite Island which was quite awesome. Oh, and Michelle, Jess, and Jen added water guns to their gift bag and they got taken out and shot in the restaurant which was totally h and added a new layer to eating.
Another day, I went to see Mission Impossible III with Zach, Eileen, Michelle and Jen. I hadn't seen the first two...they were always movies I kinda wanted to see but never got around to somehow. But this one was real good so maybe I'll see the others eventually. We went to La Salsa afterwards where Michelle convinced me to try the Taquitos instead of tacos, and they were enjoyable.
So what else has summer brought so far? My brother had a concert at McMahon, which I explored before the show started. So different. Sometimes I could picture where I was in relation to the old school, sometimes not. It was strange. I really like the blue tile at the entrance, but other than that I'm not huge on the color choices of off-white and light-throw-up-olive green.
Went to Mitch's one night and played some Pictionary with Parshva, Zach, and Ashly which was of course the usually hat time. Went to IHOP with Mitch, Parsh, Ash and had bomb stuffed French toast, but they no longer have the Cinna stacks French Toast. I didn't realize it was a special, I thought it was just something new! Gaa!!!
Hung out at Ashly's after, watched her documentary (which came out amazingly professional) and looked for a volleyball, which we never played anyways.
I think it was later that night Mitch and Grady came over and we basically hung out and talked and played with airsoft guns and listened to Grady's stories about the crazy characters at his college.
The next day, Paul came over to give me the music for jazz band. What? Well it turns out they need another saxophonist at Cabaret, and they got me! I was shocked Secchi would break the no alumni rule after Kevin was denied three years ago, but it will be fun I think.
Afterwards, I went with Mitch, Yvonne, and her friend Kathy up to New Haven to check out Pepe's pizza, apparently a super famous pizza place. It was funny...we all bought our own pizzas. So four pizzas for four people. Haha quite the sight. They cut mine totally random, so some were triangle shaped, some were like rectangle. But the pizza was good...not the be all end all that some people claimed, but it was still very, very good pizza. Afterwards we went tp Mitch's and played with his dogs and hung out.
After not finding Secret of Mana at Shakespeares, I bought it (along with Final Fantasy II and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in a lot) off eBay. We played a little of that one night and more last night, with Nick and Mark F, who has just returned. It's such a cool game, and playing three people at once is great. Even better is that we really work together, cuz unlike Four Swords there is no reason (or really, no way) to screw over your friends. A great thing, because I don't think we'd get ANYWHERE in this game if we were competing.
Yesterday I saw The Da Vinci Code with Yvonne, Kathy, and Parshva. I was the only one that hadn't read the book, but I loved it. I'll still probably read it eventually. I was hesitant to see the movie, but then I figured "one will be ruined by reading or seeing the other first, so I'll just ruin the book." I like movies, too.
I've been making props and sets for my movie in the downtime. It's really hard to cut stuff straight and I really suck and drawing so this could be bad on some of the sets. Ok no more writing.
