Wow, it's February! Cool.
Well, this past week has been pretty sweet. Let's see if I can remember shont...
Thursday production finally went underway on "I Can't Believe it's Butter" the commerical parody Alex told me about over the summer. We went to the store to buy props. Since we needed things like moldy cheese, rancid meat, etc. we asked customer service if we could take any of the stuff that got outdated off their hands. Good for them, great for us. The guy working there called the managers, who said it couldn't be done. Sorta sunked, but whatever. So then we look through the store for the stuff we need.
As we're in the butter isle, two guys come up to us. They're like "Excuse me...what's this about you wanting to take pictures of rotten food?" I don't know exactly what happened, but they must have like given our descriptions and hunted us down. We were like "we just are using that stuff for a commercial parody and thought if you were throwing it out we could just take it" and they were like "No, and we don't want you putting Stop & Shop's name on this. I don't know why you think we have moldy food" etc and they were upset and it was pretty ridiculous. SO we bought pesto to put on stuff, since that pretty much looks like mold already.
That night we filmed the taste tests. After having camera troubles which I resolved during Smallville (a crazzzy episode), we got down to business. Some people cooperated/volunteered, others we had to literally beg (with varying degrees of success) but overall everything we shot that night was hilarious. We need to film the other important breakfast table scene, but that keeps falling apart due to scheduling issues.
Friday night I went to a party with Michelle and her roommates. It was in celebration of Nicole's birthday at the beach house of their friends. It was a good time, though team short hair (of me, myself, and I) had nothing. I knew I shouldn't have cut my hair. Oh, and they had old Nick game shows on which actually really distracted me since I wanted to watch so bad.
Saturday I went to this Student Leadership conference from 10 to 3. It was less boring than I anticipated. It didn't feel like I was there for millions of hours. I learned some stuff too, particularly about being assertive rather than passive or aggressive in terms of leading groups/clubs, etc. When I got out, it was warm as ice. It was like 60 degrees and I really wanted to do something outside. I asked Alex about rollerblading, but he couldn't.
But, in one of the only spur of the moment plans to work in the longest time, Wes, Steve and I went hiking at Devil's Den. It was a really fun time, walking the trail, and busting out into extreme rock climbing at will. Then we came back and Steve and I grilled. Later on we watched Sin City director's cut which was really cool. It was the only director's cut thing I've ever seen where while I love it, it's imperative you have the regular one too. You'd know if you saw it. And btw, they say "no reason at all" a lot in that movie we discovered lol.
Sunday is escaping me at the moment, and Monday was busy as ice with classes from early as popitude till 7. Then I finished off the Inspector Gadget arrangement. Tuesday we went over my story in fiction, which surprisingly people actually kind of liked (that doesn't mean it wasn't torn apart, but it was all complete gut hatred that I expected), then in jazz band Chuck and I unveiled Inspector Gadget. And it actually sounds pretty good haha! It generated some laughter, but it was not the gut hating type. It was more like "i can't believe you guys are that hat." You know what I mean. So we should be playing it.
This morning Wes, Steve, and I returned to Devils Den, this time with Chuck. We went on a different trail, and spent even more time rock climbing, so we didn't get that far into it. We'd walk, see a crazy rock formation, climb it, come down, 10 minutes will have gone by and we've progressed 10 feet on the trail haha. It was tons of fun, then we came back and grilled. Burgers and bratwursts on the Foreman.
I just had a meeting with Fr. McGregor about my movie project. I think he's liking it, and certainly helping me figure cromp out. I just realized how much I have to do...son of bontch. Oh, and Billy Joel tomorrow! I am sooo pumped!!
