Flury's Wedding - Day 2

May 26, 2006 16:03

The next morning, we prepared for the trip to Savanna. By the way, Flury has a nice shower, particularly when judged by Japanese standards. Flury had not thought ahead and had thrown out his milk already, so we skipped breakfast and went to the Flury mansion. It was truly quite extravagant. It’s one of those things that you must see rather than read about, so I won’t describe it here, but as a measure, it was certainly a step up from the Burnside house.

After picking up some things from Flury’s house, we got some lunch at a Mexican restaurant. It was like a Quiznos for Mexican food. It was a great meal. We then drove to Savanna. It was a couple hours of driving, but I felt it passed quickly. Between my many long train and air trips, I think I have built up a great deal of patients for travel. Comparatively, spending a few hours in a car with friends is quite pleasant.

We arrived that evening in time to check in and grab some supper with Flury’s and Emily’s parents. It was a pleasant meal and Flury’s and Emily’s fathers split the tab which was very nice of them. We then went back to the hotel to change and were then supposed to meet back up with Emily and her friends at a bar before going swimming in the pool, but due to a miscommunication, they ditched us. We traveled back and forth several times looking for them, but were unsuccessful, so we called it a night.
