We got a Wii Fit. It is fun. :) Everyone always says, "Exercise helps you feel better! Exercise fixes everything!" but somehow I'm always surprised at how much better I feel when I do exercise. Because of the past several weeks of feeling icky, I had completely stopped my exercise routine, just didn't have the willpower for it. I was feeling very slowly better as the weeks went on - instead of feeling bad all day, it was just in the evenings... but for the past three days that I've been exercising again, I've even felt good in the evenings. Yay! Also, I got my actual age on the Wii Fit age this time. The first day I was 39. :)
I have yet to apply my extra energy to actually catching back up with house-cleaning chores. :P Well, okay, I have done a little. But it's still going to be rather horrible when my mom gets here this evening. *shrug* Instead of cleaning, I made devilled eggs, and macaroni and cheese with chicken and broccoli. Yay, something I actually want to eat! :)
Helping put together his easel.
Marking out the words, or making them his own? Hoshiadam wrote "Merry Christmas, Seth!" on the easel, and SAM painted a line through each of the words. :)
And the big present... "Forget unwrapping it, I need to play right now."
Kitten induces sleep.
Hoshiadam, getting ready to fry a turkey! Luckily, the power came back on not long after this. :) We were rather to miss our breakfast except for the cinnamon rolls, we would have been extra sad with no Christmas dinner.
Happy face with chicken pox.
Then it was time to break out some old toys and create a seesaw, with dragon. :)
Delicious fruit salad.
The easel is now a tent, a good place to open presents.
The next day we went over to the condo for yet more present-opening. Out-of-towners came by!
"Anyone sleeping will be pestered!"
There was another big present, which unwrapped in a long, long strip.
Eventually it was defeated.
It was a headless horse. :P
R. can still juggle. :)
The next day we managed to have our big breakfast. :)
"Finally, the gingerbread house is mine!"
On New Year's Eve, kittehs develop magical powers...
And hoshiadam shoots party streamers at the chandelier...
And that's the end of the year! Yay!
Here's an interesting little fact: Long ago in Nottinghamshire, there was a town named Gotham. King John was considering having a castle built there, but the citizens didn't like the idea, perhaps because of extra taxes and interference, or maybe John smelled funny... So to discourage him, when the king came to town, the entire populace pretended to be insane. :) Thus, Gotham became known as a town of crazy people... who maybe were a little bit smart. Centuries later, the nickname was bestowed upon New York City. Batman might be interested in this history tip. (I got this from The Browser's Dictionary by John Ciardi.)
