Re: I so totally learned something new about LJ!

Oct 29, 2008 11:26

I just discovered that I could post to LJ via email, so I'm testing that
out. It's pretty neat. First a quick overview of life currently.

Mike somehow convinced me to buy a puppy on Saturday. He's so cute. He's a
little Pit Bull. Only 6 weeks old. Mike named him Demon.

I had my first WIC appointment on Monday. It went well. I now get free milk,
eggs, cheese, cereal, juice, and peanut butter. After I give birth I'll also
get carrots and tuna (though hopefully they have an alternative) as long as
I breastfeed. If I stop, then I'll get formula. I have my next appointment
to get more of the WIC checks on December 11. And they decided to have me
try lactose-free milk since I seem to be lactose-intolerant. I like it, and
it doesn't seem to make me sick.

Yesterday we took Demon to the vet for a check up. They said he looks
perfectly healthy. We've started his shots and de-wormed him. His next
appointment is November 25th.

Tomorrow I have my next appointment with the OB. Hopefully my mom will be
taking me. And hopefully we'll get to hear the heartbeat. I'm seeing the
male doctor this time, but I'm perfectly fine with that. There should be no
poking and prodding this time, other than trying to feel where the top of my
uterus is. I'm excited. I'm still feeling nauseous most of the time, but now
that I'm 13 weeks that should stop soon.

I'm now three weeks behind in my classes and I don't think I'll be able to
recover. I may just give up.

Did I mention that I'm trying NaNoWriMo again? I didn't? Well, I'm giving it
another shot. I'm using the same idea I had last year, but I'm starting
over. I'll use the little bit that I do have as a guideline for the first
few pages. Wish me luck. I probably won't win, but I'm gonna try.

Oh and now that I've mentioned November I can mention my birthday. It's 16
days away! Since I can't stand odd numbers I've decided that I'm turning 22
again (instead of 23) on the 13th. And if you want to do something special
for me, I'll accept any gift you people feel like sending my way. And not
that I'm trying to sound like I'm begging for gifts, but I just want those
of you who want to send me something know that I have an amazon.com wish
list. Just search for my email address (hansonphreek@gmail.com) to find it.
And please don't feel like you have to do anything for me, just letting me
know you're thinking about me would be as good as anything else.

Alright one last thing. I'm in a bit of a conundrum. As we all know, the day
to vote is approaching fast. Now, I know who I'm voting for. So that's not
the problem (and if you want to know, just ask and I'll tell ya). The
problem is one of the amendments that Maryland has proposed for our
consitution. Basically it comes down to allowing slot machines in various
locations to fund education. It's very specific on the number and location
of them and all of the proceeds go directly to public schools in the state.
Now, I'm all for helping better the education of our youth. But I'm also
against gambling. The question I'm facing is: "Is gambling ok when it's
funding education?" And I'm not sure what the answer is. What do you all
think?
