Tatsuya turned to his side, when he found himself can’t sleep after the meeting with Ryo earlier. A sigh escaped his mouth. He tried to close his eyes but all he can see was the past playing inside his mind.

Even after 9 years, he could still remember it clearly like it was yesterday. And here he thought that he was already let go of that past. He thought he has already and completely forgotten about his feeling to Ryo, but then why did he still remember Ryo’s touches, his kisses, his warm hugs. Tatsuya let out another sigh.

Flashback

Tatsuya climbed tiredly the stairs to his apartment. Even though he was ready to drop dead on his bed but actually he can’t wait to spend his limited time alone with his boyfriend. It’s been almost two months since he last seen the man he loves, after all.

Upon entering the apartment, a soft smile appears on his face. The light was on, indicating that Ryo was already home. Excitement creep inside his heart. Today, he is going to see his lover again after so long being apart of each other.

“Tadaima!” He said as he walked into the living room, but there was no answered as he expected. “Ryo, are you here?” He called. He walked into his room. There he saw Ryo sitting on his bed. A smile appeared as he saw his lover.

“Ryo, I miss you.” Tatsuya said as he hugged the younger man. But the reaction that he got from Ryo was not the reaction that he expected. Instead, Ryo gently released Tatsuya’s hold on him.

“Tatsuya, there’s something I want to talk about with you.” Ryo said to Tatsuya. Tatsuya just gave Ryo a puzzle looked. “What is it, Ryo?” Tatsuya asked.

“I think it’s better for us to stop seeing each other for awhile.” Ryo said, as gentle as he could. Tatsuya just looked surprised at what had been said.

“What? But why? Did I do something wrong?” Tatsuya questioned. “No, you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s me.” Ryo tried to explain as he saw that Tatsuya’s eyes had began to tear up.

“But...but...why? What happened? I don’t understand.” Tatsuya said as his tears rolled down his cheek. Using his thumb to dry up the tears, Ryo said to Tatsuya. “I don’t understand either, Tatsuya. But lately the feeling that I used to have for you is not there anymore. I’ve been fallen out of love with you. That’s why I think it’s better for us to stop seeing each other for awhile. Maybe the time we spent apart from each other will help me gain the feeling that I used to have for you. Please understand, Tatsuya. I didn’t want this to happen but it will not be fair for you if I keep on leading you on in loving me when I don’t deserve that love.”

“I can live with that, Ryo. Please, just don’t leave me. I love you so much, Ryo. Please…” Tatsuya was on the verge of begging so that Ryo will change his mind. But Ryo was determined with his decision.

“I’m sorry Tatsuya.” Ryo said, standing and walked out of the room, taking the bag that he had been preparing since before Tatsuya got home.

“No, Ryo…Please don’t go!” Tatsuya said as he ran after Ryo only to see Ryo walked out from his apartment, from his life without looking back. Tatsuya sunk down and curled himself, sobbing his heart out.

5 month had passed and Tatsuya still struggled with his feeling towards Ryo. He found himself missing Ryo’s presence in his life more than ever. Every night he will be dreaming of Ryo, his touches, his kisses, his warmth hugs, and those sweet words Ryo always murmured in his ears. And every single night, he will found himself awaken, screaming Ryo’s name, pleading him to come back into his life.

His band mates were all worried about him. His health was declining. He threw himself into works and doesn’t seem to care about eating right, or taking good rest. He always showed up to work with dark circle under his eyes. And his smiles never reached his eyes anymore.

But one thing that completely broken his spirit down was the rumors about Ryo getting engaged had reached his ears. Even though he didn’t know whether the news was true or not but it really shattered the hope that he kept on holding to keep himself together.

Since the rumors was widely known in the Jimusho and also on news, Tatsuya had stopped eating as he had no appetite anymore, and stopped sleeping because he can’t bear the nightmare of losing Ryo that keep on hunting him. Because of this, the Jimusho decided that KAT TUN will be on hiatus for awhile and focusing on their individual project meanwhile Tatsuya could rest and recover. But one day, all his stress was too much for him to handle and he fainted. Luckily he was at the Jimusho for a meeting with his manager.

Tatsuya was hospitalized for two weeks since he was also suffering from dehydration, apart of the stress and a weaken body. And even in the hospital he refused to eat anything, even the medication. Finally, Ryo went to visit him after much threatening and begging from Tatsuya’s band mates because they knew the only way for Tatsuya to come back and being himself again was by a persuasion from Ryo himself.

Tatsuya was lying on his bed, staring the scenery from the window near his bed when Ryo came to visit him. His eyes light up when he saw Ryo. But he knew not to let his hope up, because if he falls once more, he didn’t know if he ever will recovered from the broken heart.

Ryo took out the chair at the bedside and sat. Then he looked at Tatsuya. “Tatsuya, why are you doing this to yourself?” Tatsuya just gave Ryo a small smile and then turned his head towards the window once again.

“Tatsuya, please, stop this nonsense. You are only hurting yourself by doing this. And not only you, but others too, those who care about you.” Ryo said to Tatsuya.

“If, if I stop this. If I’m back to whom I was before, will you come back to me?” Tatsuya asked in a soft voice. Ryo grimaced, knowing that he can’t possibly fulfill that plead that he heard in Tatsuya’s voice.

“I’m sorry Tatsuya, but I can’t. You know that. I already told you before. Beside, I’m happy with my new partner. And she’s wonderful.” Ryo told Tatsuya, truthfully. Tatsuya felt like he has been stabbed by Ryo’s words. Those words were so hurtful that he felt like his heart was shattered into million pieces.

“I’m going now, Tatsuya. Please, forget about me. Forget about us. I have moved on, and you should too.” Ryo said as he stood and walked out. Once Ryo was out of the room, tears started to fall down and Tatsuya cried himself out into the night.

A few days after he was out from the hospital, he seemed like he was his old self once more. But what the others didn’t know was that he only acted that way because he didn’t want to worry them.

And a week later, Tatsuya was gone. It was Nakamaru and Kazuya who discovered about the disappearing Tatsuya when they went to Tatsuya’s apartment to check on him. But imaging their shocked when they saw the empty apartment for rent when they arrived at Tatsuya’s supposed apartment.

When they went to Tatsuya’s family house, even his parent didn’t know where he has gone to. And to check out with his sister was impossible since his sister was on her honeymoon across the world. And when they went to Johnny to tell him about Tatsuya’s disappearance, Johnny told them that Tatsuya had hand in his resignation letter 3 days prior. And later that day, each of KAT TUN members received a letter from Tatsuya, asking for forgiveness and thanking them for taking care of him. And that was the last time they heard of him, except for Kazuya.

Meanwhile, Tatsuya went to New York with hope that he can start all over again. He decided the best way to forget about Ryo was to get far away from him. After all, still being in love with Ryo but at the same time he had to watch Ryo in the arms of others was a torture for him. That’s why in a moment, he make a decision to start over to where people doesn’t really recognized him as an idol.

When he first arrived at New York, he was lost in what to do. Then as he took a stroll, he decided that it’s better for him to continue with his studies. So he enrolls himself to New York University, choosing to major in Arts History. And that’s where he meets Lara Daniels, who later on becomes his wife.

A few years have passed and Tatsuya has graduated with Honors. He was also married and lives happily with his wife, Lara and their daughter, Eri. Eri just turned 2 years old just two months ago. As usual, every morning Tatsuya will wake up first and then he will wake his wife, as Lara really not a morning person. But since today was his off day, he decided to cook breakfast for his little family. As he cooked miso soup, he smiled softly when he remembers the argument he had with his wife when they were choosing names for Eri. He wanted to name her Elizabeth while Lara wanted to name her Akari, which she found while she was searching for babies name on the net.

“Why can’t we name her Akari? I want to name her Akari. I like that name. Besides, its mean light and I know she will be the light of our life.” Lara said, as she gave Tatsuya her piece of mind. “And what’s wrong with Elizabeth? I always wanted to name my daughter Elizabeth.” Tatsuya said to Lara.

“No, it’s going to be Akari!” Lara said stubbornly. “No, it’s Elizabeth!” Tatsuya encountered. “No… Aka…Arghh!!” Suddenly Lara screamed in pain.

“Eh, what’s wrong? Is it time?” Tatsuya asked panicking. Lara could only nod. And after that, time seemed too blurred for Tatsuya to remember how he managed to send Lara to the hospital in his panic mode. But one thing he could clearly remember was when the nurse gave Eri to him to hold. And when Eri opened her eyes for the first time and looked at him, he felt like he’s going to burst of the intense feeling of happiness in his heart. Finally, they decided to name her Akari Elizabeth.

After finishing with his cooking, he walked to his bedroom to wake up his wife. He tapped Lara’s shoulder gently. “Lara, wake up. It’s morning already. I cooked breakfast for us.” He said lightly but there’s no responded. Frowning lightly, he shook Lara gently. “Lara.” He called. And that’s when he realized something was not right with his wife. Normally Lara was a light sleeper. And when he touched Lara’s hand, all he can feel was coldness. And then he realized that Lara was no longer breathing.

“No, no, no…Please don’t tell me it’s time. No, please, don’t leave me. Don’t leave us.” Tatsuya said as he began to shake his wife. Lara actually had a heart problem. As she always told Tatsuya, she was carrying a time bomb in her body, which can stop at anytime and anywhere and that’s why she’s going to make sure she lives everyday as her last day and tried to create as many as happy memories with him and Eri as possible. And that’s why, when she died, she still has a soft smile on her face, because she had live happily with her loves ones.

End of Flashback

Tatsuya closed his eyes tightly, refusing to dwelled in the past anymore. But he still can’t help the sigh that’s escaped his mouth.

“Lara, what should I do?” He asked softly, as he drifted to sleep. Maybe it was just his imagination, maybe it’s not but he swore he heard Lara’s voice said to him, “Just follow your heart, my dearest.”

To be continued.
