Owen's 1st Birthday!

May 28, 2014 11:26

As usual, I'm a month behind on writing about my children's birthdays. Owen turned one on April 23. His birthday fell on a Wednesday, so we had his "party" on Saturday. It was pretty low-key. Because he's one and doesn't care, and I'm lazy.

On his actual birthday, Lauren was invited to go on a "field trip" to a local ranch owned by a sweet lady from church, Sister Gonzales, or as Lauren says, "Sister Dogales." Lauren and Owen got to see lots of animals, and Lauren even got to ride a horse. Owen fell asleep (without screaming, I might add) in the stroller, so it was a good day.

Owen was pleased.

He LOVED seeing the horses.

He fell asleep without screaming, and it was amazing.

Lauren and her future husband Brigham and his little sister Josephine.

She seriously tells me all the time she wants to marry Brigham.

All the kiddos ready for some lunch.

On his par-tay day, we had family over for some cake and ice cream.

Owen's cake. It was orange cream cake with a 1 in sprinkles.

Owen didn't waste any time eating his cake. He dove right in.

"Mom, I'm busy here."

Cake is goooooood....

I WANT MORE CAKE!!!

It's his party, and he'll cry if he wants to, especially if said party is around nap time.

This was his present from Joshua and Anna.

And here are a bunch of candid shots I took of people that I thought were funny.

Buuhhh....

After cake and ice cream, we watched some home videos much to Andrew's dismay. (He hates when I make him watch home videos, but I love them.) We laughed a lot at Evan's biggest sandwich in the whole world. It's seriously one of my favorite home videos ever.

Owen has been such a blessing in our lives. We had a difficult time conceiving and staying pregnant there for awhile, so when we finally got pregnant with Owen, we were so grateful. He's healthy and has been such a good baby. I love that he has older siblings who share my joy in his milestones. They get excited about everything he learns to do. Owen is so lucky to have such caring siblings. They love him. Owen is finally walking but still pretty unsteady. He gets so excited when he does that he falls over. It's adorable. He gets into EVERYTHING, but I honestly can't stay mad at the little booger. I'll tell him no, and he just smiles at me, and I laugh. I love that baby so much.
