Lauren has beautiful hair. Seriously. It's a pretty color. It's thick. I just love it. It had gotten really long, and I loved being able to fix it in different ways. I wasn't an expert, but I liked to try. Lauren, on the other hand, constantly told me that she wanted it short. Boo! I tried putting her off for as long as I could for my sake, but I couldn't put it off forever. I told her to at least wait until after her
birthday party, so she could have long hair like Rapunzel. She agreed. And then after her party, I just didn't bring it up for a long time hoping she would forget. She didn't. *sigh*
I had only attempted to
cut her hair once before. It turned out decent enough, so I decided to try again. I watched these great
hair cutting videos again on youtube, and I decided to just go for it.
Here's Lauren's hair before I cut it. Weep with me at the loss of these luscious long locks.
Look at that length! Her hair was so long! I measured it, and she actually had enough to donate to
Locks of Love, so I read up on the instructions, put that thing in a pony tail and chopped it off! When I handed her the ponytail, she couldn't stop giggling.
I, on the other hand, looked at her hair and started panicking. What the crap did I just do?! After a lot of worried cutting and not knowing what the heck I was doing, I finally was able to make it look decent. Behold!
I'm so glad she still looks cute! I mean, she would look cute even with a bad hair cut, but I'm glad her hair looks cute, too! When I cut off the ponytail it kinda did it's own layered thing in the back, and I just went with that. I think it turned out better than my
first time! I must be getting better! Or I just got really lucky.
I bathed her and got her ready to go to the library. She kept telling me how much she loved it and how pretty she is. I agree.
She is my beautiful girl.
Even after I cut off that huge ponytail,
See?!
I still had all this hair to sweep up that I cut off...
That girl has a lot o' hair!
I'm still getting used to seeing her with really short hair, but it suits her. And I'm glad she likes it. :)
