Student of the Month

I've been really slacking on updating about life lately. I've been super tired, and a little over-whelmed, so I blame that. But I DO want to post about some cool things that have happened.

Last month Evan was chosen as Student of the Month at his school! They chose one student from each class, and he was chosen for his. I wasn't sure what exactly it all meant or how it all worked b/c all they did was send home a paper that we had to fill out about Evan that said, "Student of the Month." Evan did tell me that he got to be at the front of the line all month, so I guess that was cool. I helped him fill out his paper. He was SO excited!

Here he is with his paper:

It says: "I am 5 years old. My favorite color is pink. My favorite animal is bull. My favorite food is Golden Grahams. This is what I look like. My family. A hotel by the beach is my favorite place. When I grow up I want to be a scientist. My favorite thing to do is play with my friends. If I had one wish, I would wish for a dog."

He had to fill out another paper which they read at the Award ceremony in which he said the person he admired most was his cousin Gavin. haha All the other kids said their mom or dad... my kid chose his 7 year old cousin. It says a lot about me, I guess. So inspiring. haha

Here he is receiving his award at school:

He's so cute! I love how he walked in with his hands in his pockets.

Afterwards, I got to walk him back to class, so we took some pictures first of his awards.

And here he is with momma:

Andrew couldn't come, and I left Lauren with Aunt Sarah.

He got a bag of goodies, and a coupon for a free slushie! Yum! He's been telling me all month how he's the student of the month. I told him I was student of the week once, and I got to be on TV. He told me that being student of the month is better b/c it's longer. haha

Anyway, I was proud of him. They said at the award ceremony that they were chosen based on behavior, and I've had his teacher and other staff at the school tell me how he's such a good student. One even told me how polite he is, and how I'm doing a good job raising him. It made me feel good. :)

I'm proud of my student of the month!
