Hoppy Easter!
I feel like Easter is the forgotten holiday. There's a whole season for Christmas. The world starts celebrating in November (or even October if you're my sister-in-law Becky haha). Easter only gets recognition on one weekend. Yes, they sell stuff in the store a few weeks before, but it's nothing like Christmas.
The things is... Easter is such an IMPORTANT holiday. Because the whole reason Christ was born was so that he could die and rise again. Easter is the celebration of his whole mission for us. It's the reason we are able to live again eventually. It's the reason that I can tell my children that yes, they will meet my mom (or as Evan says, "my special mom, Vicki") one day. Because he was willing to die, he was able to be resurrected to save us all.
It's pretty amazing.
I also love it because I think of how hard it must've been for him to suffer, and how hard it must've been for Heavenly Father to watch his son suffer, but they were able to do it because they knew something better was coming. Easter is a reminder to me that no matter how hard things are, better things are on their way, and if I just endure, I'll eventually get there. I'll eventually get to that that better place.
I hope everyone had a fantastic Easter and that amid all the egg hunts and candy eating and easter bunnying that you found a moment to reflect on the amazing event that we're celebrating--that he LIVES!
