I want to try these
cookies, but I'm afraid they'll be gross... I'm intrigued, though. I imagine they'll taste something like those cheese sticks that are spicy... does anyone know what I'm talking about?
CHEESE STRAWS! that's what they're called.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun last night with my little family. It's been raining cats and dogs around here the last couple of days. Our power went off last night, so we ate dinner by candle light. :) It wasn't as romantic as it sounds. We had chips and dip, and I fed a very hungry Lauren while trying to get a few bites in for myself every once in awhile. haha
THEN, Andrew told Evan that he would play outside in the rain with him. Since he had class that night, he put on these big rubber boots and had a huge umbrella. Evan started out with a shirt and a pull-up, but soon decided that he wanted to be naked. So we let him. :)
I wasn't planning on playing in the rain, but I wanted to take pictures of them and ended up out in it anyway. It was SO fun! I laughed so much at Evan's little naked bum running around. And then we tried putting Lauren's feet in the water, and she would pick up her feet. It was cute. And then seeing Andrew in his goofy get-up. It was just a lot of fun.
It was starting to get dark, and Andrew said he'd have to go to class. Evan said, "Daddy, stay here." It was so cute and sad. Earlier that day, he bawled his eyes out when he saw Andrew driving away on the tractor. It broke my heart. :(
Andrew ended up calling a guy from his class and staying home with us. And while I don't entirely approve of him skipping class... I'm glad he did. :)
We played card games with Evan for a little while. And even when the power came back on, I convinced Andrew to turn the TV off and play another card game with us. Amazing, right? :D We played Memory and Go Fish. Evan did pretty good with Memory. He's really smart! Go Fish is a little too much for a 2 year old mind, though. He got mad b/c we wouldn't let him get a bunch of cards off the deck in the middle. haha
Eventually, Evan had to go to bed. He was not a happy camper about it at all. Lots of tears. It almost makes me not want to do fun stuff b/c of the reactions when it's over... but then I guess that would make me mean. haha
After we FINALLY got him in bed, Andrew and I stayed up playing Mario 1 & 2. Andrew beat them both. We had so much fun just goofing off and making fun of each other's game skills. It feels like it's been so long since we just hung out like that. We laughed a lot. Fun, fun times.
I had a lot of fun last night. I'm so glad I have my little family to keep me happy even when the weather is crazy, and we have no power. :)
