Just call me Pink Eye Pete

well, i guess it was only a matter of time before Evan's pink eye got passed to me. Fun times. I haven't had pink eye since I was a kid, and now since I've had a kid, I've gotten it twice. That's once a year for the last two years in case you're counting. I'm not even sure where Evan got it in the first place. He woke up Thanksgiving morning with extremely crusty eyes. My eyes aren't like that yet, but they've been slightly itchy and mucousy today. Luckily, I have drops from the last time we had it. And luckily, Andrew's uncle is a doctor and prescribed Evan some ointment so I don't have to struggle putting drops in his eyes. Evan also has a stuffed up/runny nose and a busted lip. (He tripped over what I can only guess was his own feet this morning.) So he looks lovely with a fat lip and snot face. We're not going anywhere today. Oh, except for church b/c I have a presidency meeting tonight... yay... *insert crazy enthusiasm here*

I got out my saxophone today b/c my sister-in-law Megan asked me last night if I wanted to be in a little band for the church christmas party coming up. I haven't played since high school unless you count the maybe 5 times I've gotten it out for five minutes and decided I sucked. I was good in high school. First chair, even. So I got it out today to try and play it. I wasn't so good at first, but I've gotten better. Evan cried when I started playing it. haha Very encouraging. He finally warmed up to it, though, and he likes to push buttons while I blow in it. I let him "blow" in it once and decided that I'm not doing that again. haha Grossness. He also likes to stick his hand and arm in as far as he can into the bell. Anyway, I'm nervous about playing in front of people. But I think it will be fun. I miss band and playing my saxophone. I don't get many opportunities like this, so I'm excited.

We had our Christmas enrichment meeting last night. I was told by several people it was really great. AND we had over 50 people show up! Amazing! I'm excited that people are getting excited about our enrichment meetings. We ended up having dinner, a movie, and a gift exchange. The gift exchange was a little hectic b/c we played the left/right game... and apparently people have trouble with their left and right. And a mug got broken in the process. haha oh, well. The dinner was delicious. Can't go wrong with ham. And then we watched Mr. Krueger's Christmas. Cute movie, and I teared up a little at the end. During dinner we had people tell Christmas stories and do musical numbers. Our whole idea was to help them remember the true meaning of Christmas, and I don't know if it helped them... but it helped me. We wanted people to remember to celebrate more than his birth, but his life, as well. I think it went well.

Evan got a guitar hero toy in our Frosted Mini Wheats box and has been carrying it around playing the music and dancing. It's so cute. I love watching him dance. He's actually pretty darn good for being two. He has more rhythm than most adults I know. haha

Well, I guess that's all for now. Don't forget to vote on my baby's name if you haven't done so already! And, Amy, stop posting anonymous comments voting for Elyse! haha
