Chrono Cross fan mix - General || "Adventure Day"
BACKGROUND: Chrono Cross is the unpopular sequel to the extremely popular game Chrono Trigger. It follows the story of Serge, a teenage boy from a small fishing village. Serge knows nothing of the outside world until one while on the beach with Leena, his pseudo-girlfriend, he is transported to another world - one almost identical to his own, but very different at the same time. As Serge quests to return to his "Home World," he is drawn into the events unfolding in "Another World" - and an innocent adventure to collect komodo scales for Leena evolves into a journey to save the world from its destruction.
Although I cannot say for sure, I think the reason so many people dislike this game is because it's so different from the original. Chrono Trigger is a great game, and it's hard to create a sequel that would outlast the expectations Chrono Trigger created. And because Chrono Cross is almost an entirely different game from Chrono Trigger - the only character who returns in the sequel to play a role of any sort is Lucca, and even then, she's only seen in flashbacks - fans were largely disappointed. Perhaps the reason why I personally like this game so much is because I played it before Chrono Tigger - in fact, I'd never heard of Chrono Trigger on that fateful day at Best Buy all those years ago when I picked up Chrono Cross just for the heck of it.
Anyway, because I love the game so much, I put together a general fan mix for it. It's a bit campy, and not entirely serious, and quite frankly, I don't expect it to be overly popular, but hopefully someone out there will like it. :) Cover art is Serge; back art is Kid (the two main characters in the game). It's just from the official art that you can literally find anywhere on the net.

(Kid, the person who aids Serge the most in his journey, is bent upon revenge for what Lynx - Serge's antagonist - did to Lucca and the orphanage where she once lived.)

Everybody wants to be a cat,

(Lynx… is a cat. Therefore, this song is perfect for him. :p)

(Serge finds that he cannot complete his quest alone; he needs the help of others. This is just a fun little song to commemorate the 40+ characters that can join your party in Chrono Cross.)

(The end of the journey is bittersweet for many of the characters, including Serge and Kid.)

(Even though they must return to their own worlds, Serge and Kid will always remember one another. This is the ending theme to Chrono Cross, and I couldn’t find a better way to honor the relationship between Serge and Kid.)
