Reasons it's okay to be me today

1. I went skating again last night. My goal was to fall less than five times; I didn't fall once (though Lord knows, I came close). What really helped was when one of the rollergirls suggested that I undo the top two laceholes of my very stiff rental skate boots, which finally allowed me to bend my knees, which is what I really needed. By the end of the night I was even starting to move my arms a little to help pick up speed. My goal for next time is to actually get my skates off the ground, which is, um, still a challenge for me. But hey, did I mention how I didn't fall down once?

2. When I woke up this morning, I wasn't sore at all. I thought I would be. But I stretched a ton after skating, and I guess it helped.

3. I'm really pleased with something I wrote for work. It's not a big important topic, but the writing itself, I think, is Quality Hannahchan, and I get a certain workmanlike pleasure out of constructing something that is both solidly made and aesthetically enjoyable.

4. I will be buying a computer soon, meaning I can finally have access to the Internets at home, too. I may never leave the house again!

5. After meaning to go there for the entire 11 years I've lived in this city, I'm finally going to visit Philly.

6. My stomach's feeling a lot better than it was. Not perfect, but I'd say I'm feeling almost 90 percent, which is great. The rest of me is recovering more slowly, but I'm hopeful. I think I'm going to lay off the alchohol until the CNY party and see if that doesn't help. And keep to one cup of coffee a day. Baby steps, baby steps.
