I am so exhausted today, I probably shouldn't even attempt to write a post, but here goes. It was pretty awesome. We started out slowly, with a low scoring Gamblers attempt. I don't know how we managed to rack up so few points, I am sure a missed a-frame contact had a little to do with it, but even if we would have had that, it still would have been low. Next up was standard, which was better, Hannah had a couple refusals, but nothing major, and a nice fast time. After standard came steeplechase. Hannah totally blew her first A-frame, but she was moving so fast I kind of forgot to mark it. The second time around, she hit the contact, but bounced way off, so I marked that just by making her stop. Finished the course but didn't reward her. Even so, we Q'd (?) don't know how, but I'll take it.
Last for the day was jumpers. Hannah did a great job, really seemed to be hitting her stride. I really loved that run.
Sunday started with snooker. Oh snooker. Seven was six weaves, to a jump that was offset from the weaves and then six more weaves. I considered doing a couple 7's in the opening, but then I decided that even though Hannah is a great weaver, I didn't want to risk the huge time waster that re-starting weaves can be. So I did 1-4, 1-3, 1-6, 1-6. Hannah was on fire. She was just spot on the whole way. When we got to 7 in the closing, she was booking so fast, I'm thinking there is no way in heck she is going to make that weave entry. But she did. That was the funnest snooker ever. Next up was Grand Prix. It was a tough, tough course. I thought. Only 17% Qs. Not much to say about this run, Hannah did fine, but we got called on the teeter. I know it was a sloppy teeter, she kind of came off the side, but I saw worse ones that didn't get called. So anyway. We won the 16" class, but of course no Q.
By the time we got to Team Relay, I had really started to put pressure on myself. Our team was pretty far above the line, but my teammates thought that if we had a E in relay, we would drop below. I was tired and confused and really got a little freaked out. Our portion of the relay called for going thru a jump box, which was a little tricky on paper, but it ran fine. We did great, I was being super conservative with Hannah but we had no problem. One of my teammates did get an off course, but we still Q'd in DAM team. Yay team!
Steeplechase finals was craptastic. All weekend long, I remembered all the courses. By steeplechase I was so tired and forgot the whole course. Bleh. Should have gonehome!
