Hannah stood outside a bookshop in the rain, waiting to meet her boyfriend. She had set up a meeting outside the shop. Her umbrella was charmed to keep the rain off of her in a much more efficient way than the umbrella itself. Derek was late, which was unusual for him. He'd only been living in London for a few weeks and hadn't gotten the lay of the land so perhaps he was lost. She sighed and looked around. Surely he'd see her once he was near, she was holding a bright red umbrella and wearing a bright blue long rain coat. She definitely stood out.
The point of this meeting had been to get some time together, just the two of them. Hannah had been incredibly busy at work so it had been a hard week to spend time with Derek except for falling asleep beside him after she got in. She felt quite guilty about not being the best host to her new roommate. Although Derek was very easy going and seemed to be doing well, Hannah knew it was difficult to move to another country. And he had done it to be closer to her. The least she could do was make time for him, right?
