TARDIS meta!

It had to happen! So many theories on 10.5/Rose's TARDIS, that it needed clarifying, yes?

Technically, we don't know how long the TARDIS takes to grow with Donna's enhancements. We just know that it will be reasonably enough in their lifetime that both Doctors and Donna believe Rose and he will (if Rose wanted to) spend their lives traveling the new universe in it. Meaning, it's probably not going to take longer than a decade. However, we know that human running prime isn't all that long, and though John is half Time Lord, and very well may age more gracefully, if Rose isn't up to it, it completely negates the point.

Therefore, I think the growth period is considerably shorter. I don't think it'd take more than five. I do not, however, think it would take less than one. So, the general timeline for a completed/fully mobile TARDIS for them would be, in my mind, somewhere between 2-4 years, (With three being the happy medium I like to settle on). I'm easy sliding that around for whatever the verse demands, but that's generally what I like to go with. Any longer and it begins to become a bit of a pipe-dream, any shorter and it's unreasonable to think they wouldn't have mentioned it specifically (IE "Do this and it'll be finished in six months.")

Now, of course, TARDISes don't actually look like police boxes. IMO until it's grown old enough to have a working chamelon circuit, it's not going to look like one. At all. It'll look all corally and Gallifreyan. Very, very pretty and entirely not TARDISy. It'll also be considerably larger until the dimensional tech kicks in.

Once it is old enough, however, I think that Doctor Smith and Rose would want to keep the police box motif anyway. He's fond of it, it's a piece of home, and I imagine so is she. (I'm up for verses where it's not, or where it's alternatively colored, as well.) However, given that the police box itself is sentimentality, I think instead of its text box reading "Police call box etc etc" it would instead name Donna Noble and all the planets which she saved whilst traveling with the Doctor (Directly, because there's no room for all of reality). Again, I'm open to verses where it's not, but that's how I envision it, since the Doctor had to know what would happen to Donna.

The insides would likely remain the same coral they were before, but they might be changed around a bit as Rose liked them, since again, it would be a matter of personal preference, and they're both a bit sentimental about TARDISes.

This brings me to the last bit of the meta. While the Doctor of course would be handling the technical side of raising the TARDIS, Rose is Rose and would have her hands in it. More, they'd be a little like the TARDIS' parents, it imprinting on them like a newborn, and connecting with the both of them equally. So both he and Rose would sense her, feel her, hear her, and be able to influence her.

I thiink that's about it. Y/n?
