"I look to my Eskimo friend. I look to my Eskimo friend."

Here we are two weeks before school starts. Tonight I went out with some good friends. We started at the Vid, hit some places in between, and ended up at Kilroys. The last few days people have been calling me about coming back to town and it is starting to kick in that school and the people are coming back to btown.

Tonight, there was a lot of people at Kilroys, and it only made me more bitter about the school year ahead. I have had a great summer. It has been one of those summers that has just flown by, but looking back, it has been a lot of fun and I got to do a lot. But, alas, everything good must come to an end. Because it has been such a chill and enjoyable summer, I am more bitter than usual about the students coming back. Yes, I myself am also a student, but I really enjoy the people who are here now and I don't want anyone else to come back (with the exception of my friends and maybe a few other people). I am not ready for the crazy traffic, the east coast folk, and the new youngins' who think they own this town coming to campus. At Kilroys, there were a lot of people I don't enjoy so much, and it hit me hard that this is it, summer is ending and ending quickly. Perhaps, I will have to spend all my bar time at the VID, where the people are so awesome and take me out of reality (if that makes any sense?).

This weekend was a work weekend. We had one patient imparticular that was very combative. I have never dealt with this kind of patient before and it made for an exciting Saturday. Work has been okay lately, but I really wish I could just have some time off to explore other jobs and enjoy my free time. In my college and high school years, I have never been without a job and now, I am getting burnt out on work. I am hoping that cutting back hours during the school year will help me get over this.

Last week, I made my second summer visit to Chicago. Virginia and I stayed with Jennifer in Wrigleyville and we had an awesome time. We went to a party on Tuesday night when we got in town. These girls worked with Jennifer at American Girl and their apartment looked like something straight out of a Trading Spaces episode. It was obvious mom and dad had some money. We still had a good a time with the drunk kids. Following the party, we went to a pub where they gave VA her drink and 10 minutes later announced they were closing. I thought that was strange. Wednesday we did some shopping. I am on a tight budget so I ended up only buying some earrings from my favorite H&M. That night we made our second annual trip to Ravinia to see Rufus Wainwright and Ben Folds. Ben Lee opened for them and he was awesome. We enjoyed a little picnic and Oliver Wine. I love Ravinia and I had such a good time with my girls. Thursday, we went to the House of Blues to see Marc Broussard. I have been a fan of his for about a year now. His show just blew me away though. It was sooo much better than his cd. His stage presence, voice, and guitarist astounded me. The House of Blues was a great venue as well and his openers, Elliot Morris and Glen Phillips were also very good. It was much different than I expected. VA and I also met some boys behind us in line and they were very cool guys. They graduated from U of M and were entertaining. We met Marc's guitarist after the show. He was a nice, humble guy. Marc came out later but he was extremely intoxicated and pretty much ignored us. I was mad because he isn't big enough of an artist to just ignore his fans. I guess I'll use his mental state as an excuse. For more details, see winterblanket .

I guess that is about it for now. This weekend also held some drama and very strange moments for me. At the same time, it made me realize some things that I think I needed to be reminded of. My good friend Alaina also gave me some advice that helped me to make some decisions. For now, I am off to bed. Tomorrow is our last $.97 bowling night of the summer. Oh how i wish summer would never end. Take care all.
