The thing about cities, these days, is that they tend to have zombies. The thing about zombies is that Karla does much, much better avoiding them than trying to fight them ( Read more... )

A slow blink, but sharp eyes, Claire licks one canine and tilts her head, watching. They'd been out hunting, her and two that she would expect to protect her.

Leaving the other two vamps, she approaches, heels loud on concrete.

"Hey there," voice sugar candy and dark growls.

Karla tenses a little at the sound of the approaching heels, and turns that way.

"Evening."

Slight hint of a Southern drawl in her voice, guarded tone and expression.

Claire licks her lips, watches, curious.

"You must be new."

She smells human, and recently fed, that's more a curiosity to Claire than attractive. Southern. This could be fun.

"Yep."

There is, if you listen, the careful, quiet padpadpad of four soft feet. There is, if you look, a slightly lanky wolf, grey and calm, walking down the street. He happens to be going the same way as the human, on the far side of the road, and a little faster. Hence why he caught up.

His tail is level and wags very, very slowly. He is keeping his eye on her, ready to bolt.

The wolf dislikes guns. They are loud and smell bad.

If you can read wolf-speak, he isn't saying threat. He's saying a respectful, distanced hello. You can walk your way just fine by me. As long as you don't shoot.
