Last week was my last week at my job. I taught the 3rd-years and the 1st-years. Then the last day, Friday, I had no lessons. I just played DS at my desk in the teachers' room and tried to look inconspicuous. Apparently, the story told to the schools and board of education by my company was that my dad had a bad accident, and so I have to go back to America, and I already bought my plane ticket. I had no idea when who would be told what, so I just kinda tried to make it through without having to talk about my leaving with anyone. x_x;
As it turns out, the staff was told at a teachers' meeting Thursday afternoon. Friday, a few teachers approached me about it, and I had to just stick with the story my company made up. Why? Well, I don't want to rock the boat before I receive my final payment. So, that was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. And then the next day, my first day free, when Takoa and I were going to the train station, we ran into 3 3rd-year students. :X Oh, lordy.
Takao came over Sat night, then we went into Tokyo on Sunday. We had our typical sushi brunch at Otaru and went to the 100% Chocolate Cafe near Tokyo station on our way to Ginza. In Ginza, we went to the Sony Building where we saw cool technology, cameras, etc, and I played a Dragon Ball Z fighting game on the PS3. Fun! We stopped in at a mac store and went to a very small art gallery which I enjoyed. After that, we made our way ovr to Suidoubashi with the intent of going to another gallery. We got there kinda late and I messed up the route from the map and so we ended up not going. Takao got pouty and wanted something to drink, so we went to a starbucks, where he got a caramel macchiato. I got nothing because I was hungry but didn't want sb-sweets. From there we ended up going to shinjuku, and I got a lovely dinner of curry, nan and chai at a curry house across the street from Arty. We went into arty and hung out a while, then went to karaoke and took the last train home. We hung out a bit at my apt Sunday, he mainly snoozed and then left abruptly. O.o He also made a comment about how he'll be sad when I leave, and I had no idea what to say to that. Later that evening, I got an e-mail saying when he realized we could still connect by chatting and sending pictures and whatnot, how felt relieved. Yeah..
Last night I started playing Half-Life 2, since I caved and about the Orange Box when I was in NY. (Though I didn't actually buy it in NY, since I bought it online.) HL2 is awesome - I totally feel like I'm in a freaky dystopian totalitarian future. Hot. I definitely wanna play the first one when I finish. Also? The buggy is bullshit. Just saying. I'd rather take a godam bicycle.
I slept till a zillion today and it was glorious. I hope to go somewhere cool tomorrow, so I'll have to plan for that. Woo.
