Name troubles, trouble names (ie. the difficulty of choosing names, and the one finally chosen)

I haven't been able to do anything today, everything else has been so completely overdriven by the need to find the name for my future Yder. Now, after spending nearly 48 hours thinking about it non-stop (yes, it even invaded my dreams...), I have finally found The Right One. My first impulse was Gilbert, but that's a no-no, as he isn't like Gilbert from Kaze to Ki no Uta, and that is what always springs into my mind when I think of the name. I tried several anagrams today, but no use. Then I started to go through lists of French boy names and rare names (thank you lady_illusia dear for helping me to find that particular site). Finally I had six options: Diandre, Etienne, Almond, Sebastien, Darius and Dorian. The sounds in Dorian are too round, so it was the first one to go. Almond was too close-to-earth, so it was the second to leave. Sebastien is a name for someone with darker hair, so I ruled that one out as well. Darius was also too round, besides it reminds me of the name Dario, which I assosiate to the playwrite Dario Fo and his Mysterio Buffo. That didn't do, no sir (though I do like his satyrical plays, but they are satyrical...). The two names left were Diandre and Etienne. For a moment I gazed at the pictures I have of Yder, and even though Etienne brings to my mind the name "Etienne du Trois" which I was unable to locate this hour of the day (a fact that slightly disturbs me), he himself chose the name Etienne. Perhaps Diandre was too soft a name as well... who knows.
But Etienne he is, at least for now.

And perhaps tonight I can have my night's rest... XD
