On-going dramas Summer 2011 part 2 (and another drop)

Aug 12, 2011 00:06

The great continuation after only 1 day. Well, catching up never harmed anyone. So moving on to the huuuge list because honestly this season it's a lot easier for me to say which ones I don't watch rather than those I watch. I don't complain, on the contrary it's a good sign that there are a lot of good dramas to watch. I still remember the winter season of 2010...I think I watched 3 dramas and a special? And I didn't really like one of the 3...It's interesting that summer seasons tend to be better lately.

Moving on to the list

1)Hi wa mata noboru (4/?)

Continuation of the "saigo no bansan" SP of the previous season with Sato Koichi resigns from the Investigative force and is appointed as a trainer at the police academy. Miura Haruma, Minami Keisuke and Ikematsu Sosuke (the sick friend of Takeru in Q10) are among the future police officers that he has to train. The whole team fits together and that's makes the drama even more pleasant. There is also the interesting background that we know from the Special about Sato Koichi's wife that gives another dimension to the drama, adding more that another police drama to this season. I also like the ending song of Atsushi (EXILE) a lot. It's smoothing and really appropriate for the drama I think.

2) Yuusha yoshihiko to maou no shiro (4/12)

Ancient time, a hero begins his quest, finds his companions etc. Except the fact that this drama IS PURE AWESOMENESS. I was told that for anyone who plays RPG is even more hilarious because it follows the same procedure (even the music resembles RPG) but still you have to blind (or have COMPLETELY different taste in dramas from me) in order not to appreciate its epicness.

3) Bull Doctor (5/?)

The medical drama of the season. Contains also a bit of investigations as the medical stuff is about autopsies and you get the general idea. The best point of this drama is the friendship/rivalry developing between Esumi Makiko (that btw is amazing) and Ishihara Satomi. There is also a hint of mystery with Kohinata Fumiya but it is still too early to know how this will develop.

4) Ouran high School Host Club (3/?)

Since I entered into the fandom 3 years ago I remember that there were people waiting for this drama to happen. For years there were rumors but this summer our wish was granted. However I still can’t decide whether I really like it or not. Starting from its positive aspects Yamamoto Yusuke may not fit Tamaki but then again NOBODY would Tamaki-sama is beyond this world. At least he is decent and funny. I also love Takagi twins for many many reasons<3! Fanservice must seem really disgusting to them (being true twins) but then again thanks guys<3. The rest of the cast are also quite good but I fail to see why they did that to Yudai Chiba (you have to watch it to understand).I personally find it weird and very creepy. The thing I don’t like in this drama is the female lead that by now I am convinced that she can barely act and she can’t support the short haircut. I hope she doesn’t ruin this for me…

5) Piece Vote (4/?)

This is one of the average dramas. The plot was fairly interesting. Strangers are found on a ship abducted by someone that requests from them to play a game of life or death unless they commit their sins sounds pretty interesting to me. However so far, it is mediocre…could even turn pretty bad if nothing happens at the end. I don’t blame the actors but the plot and the director. I only continue this because of my curiosity and its duration (23 minutes per episode).

6) Jiu (1?) and another drop

I watched the first episode today. I had my hopes since the ending was the Edge of Glory (we<3 Gaga) and it also had Kuroki Meisa stalked by Shirotan (can’t really blame him:P) but God….it was boring…it was really boring. Something went wrong and I am not in the position to sacrifice my time so bye Jiu…
