Autumn anime + memory meme

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often or ever) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph in your LJ and see what your friends come up with.

It's the first time I've ever really checked what kind of new anime is airing this autumn. And I actually decided to check a couple of titles - only those with some kind of familiar association, naturally. On one case I was positively surprised, and on the other... not that positively.

First I took a peek at Casshern Sins, because it starred my idol Furuya Tooru. Three episodes have aired and I have seen two. I liked it OK so far. It's about a world on the brink of devastation, inhabited mostly by robots. But even the robots, humanoids or not, have begun to die due to the mysterious "Ruin". A robot/cyborg/human? boy named Casshern is one of the few not yet affected, and all the other robots seem to blame him for their unevitable death. Casshern doesn't have the foggiest of what's really going on, and neither does the viewer. It's dark, really dark, but the animation is gorgeous and it's interesting enough for you to want to know the answers to those mysteries that keep popping up.
AND it's a remake (or a sequel?) of an old 70's anime, which makes it a must-try. Casshern also provides The Cutest Thing In Cinema History, a sweet little girl named Ringo. Minaguchi Yuuko's interpretation of her character is the most adorable you will ever hear in your life. Trust me.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this.

PS: Casshern is a modern-day Seiya clone. Wonder why the voice? ^_~

I'll post pictures later so you'll know what I'm talking about.

I had been following news on the anime adaption of Tanaka Yoshiki's Tytania. With great expectations, I started watching the first episode, and finished it with really awkward feelings. The episode seemed to me like a remake of Ginei's (that's Tanaka's Ginga eiyuu densetsu/Legend of the Galactic Heroes, by the way) starting episode - only with less charisma and much more hair gel. The whole setting, the whole dimension where it took place seemed like a lame copy of that of Ginei. Even the "genious commander of the smaller, weaker party of the battle" was just a cheap imitation of the great Yang Wenli - the voice actor (Konshi Katsuyuki) even played him like Tomiyama Kei had played Yang! Everything that happened in this episode seemed really, well, forced, and completely over the top.
The first episode of Tytania had "camp" written all over it, but maybe it's too early to judge the whole thing. I don't really know if this "Ginei with glitter" thing will turn out to work, but it sure saddens me to see the very thing that made Ginei so lovable - the rough, cruel realism - swept away to make more room for prettier and prettier boys, frillier and frillier outfits and fancier and fancier battleships (which are SO out of place, and ugly too).

Maybe I'll give it a chance. Ginei's point of no return was 5 episodes (which isn't bad for a series of 110 eps), and if Tytania can't do the same, I'll probably leave it on the shelf.
