I bought my hamster exactly a week ago. I didn't ask of his age or anything, but he was the biggest one in the cage. What can I say...I'm attracted to pudgy, fat animals. They are just so darn cute. I have a feeling my hamster is older then the usual "pet store hamster age". How can I tell what his approximate age is? It would be nice to know, even though it doesn't effect anything.

Also. He has a mixed diet with corn, seeds, pellets, etc. I give him feed everyday and all he does is eat the seeds and leaves everything. I've left his dish so he has to eat something else for a change, but I'm thinking maybe this isn't the right diet for him. Is there another kind of really good hamster food out there that he will get a balance of everything? He also gets a fresh veggie everyday of some sort (usually lettuce or cucumber) which he gobbles down instantly.
