Kitty

We took Kitty to the vet's today regarding her cloudy eye and she had quite an adventure! It was the first time she's been for an outing since we got her in October. We had ordered a taxi, which got stuck in a traffic jam, and the driver was so inconsiderate. He knew we had a small animal with us yet he insisted on having his stereo on full blast. :( Poor Kitty went a bit crazy and started freaking out, so forgivemenot asked him to turn it down. I'm so glad we put her wheel into her travel cage because I think she would've gone absolutely crazy without it!

Anyway, the vet was really nice (I've never been to that vet's before) and he shone a light into her eye and said it wasn't a cataract. He thinks the cornea has been scratched and has caused some sort of irritation, which we think may have been done when she was injured by Tom a few weeks ago. The vet said she's definitely blind in that eye at the moment but that it may be reversable, so he prescribed her some eye drops I have to give her twice a day (which is going to be fun!) and also showed me how to give them to her. She's so tiny that her whole head was damp afterwards, but she was a very good girl and sat still while the vet put the drops in. :)

We then decided not to bother with another taxi and took her for her first bus ride! Much cheaper and less stressful for her. She seemed to be completely oblivious to it. She's now completely exhausted, though, and has been asleep all evening. Aww. :) We have to take her back in a couple of weeks for a check-up. Hopefully the drops will work!
