critter bath powder

is it safe to leave some critter bath sand/powder, inside a dwarf's cage? ive seen some people have the little baths with a little bit, in the cage at all times. or should I only let him use it, when I can keep an eye on him?

i've been using this stuff..i assumed that because it had hamsters on the cover, that it was safe for them...even though it says dust. it has a sand-like texture to it..

I use the same brand but a bigger box with chinchillas on it because it is labelled sand. I'd be wary of the powder. When you pour it does a lot of dust get in the air?
