I am really sorry for your loss. I went through the same thing two months ago with my hamster George, and there isn't a lot that you can do for something so small.

I didn't want to prolong his suffering so I chose to put him down but he fought it off. His little heart kept going strong long after his lungs stopped breathing. That made me feel guilty, but I know what I did for him was right. I just don't think he wanted to leave me yet.

I am still crying. I have put other hamsters down before but this one in particular had a horrible impact on me. I just feel so sad inside....
