They originally quoted me $182 for everything, but it actually only came to $137...I paid a $50 deposit (since I didn't know how much money I had in my checking account) when I dropped him off, and came back expecting to put $132 on my credit card, but my balance owed was only $87. I think the extra dough was for the possibility of keeping him overnight. It was the highest vet bill we've ever paid...usually appointments for our buggers are around $35-40. I don't like to put a price on the health of a family member, and Champ is very special to us (as are Mirepoix and Brulée, and as Petit Four was), so I don't mind giving up some "fun money" to ensure that he's ok. And he is doing fine...I just came back from my class, and he's still climbing the cage bars, and putting weight on his foot. Of course, it's possible that the pain medication is still working, and he's high as a kite. ;-D
He's making a mess...he keeps dive-bombing into his food dish (from the walls of the cage) and the food is everywhere now, including outside the cage. He also flattened and spread out the nice mound of shredded tissues that I foolishly set up thinking that he'd want to go back to sleep right away.
Champ's acting like his normal crazy self...I just hope he doesn't hate us in the morning for giving him pain medicine and antibiotics! No one likes taking icky medicine, and hamsters are no exception.
On the road to recovery!!! Like my cats when they got fixed and the vet said to keep them still so they can rest for a couple days but they were racing around the house like nothing had happened.

He's a cuties, and I'm sure he'll be in great shape sooner than later.
