Special Report from IHM (Independent Hamster Press)
HAMOPOLIS, California-
The fastest growing community in hamsterdom was struck by a series of startling blows this weekend. Although some Hamopolis residents have referred to these events simply as tragedies, others have been quick to call it neglect on the part of city officials. The most widely felt occurence was the sudden death of Ms. Tamblyn Roustie, mother to the now famous Pups. She was found dead of unknown causes late last night. No physical damage was apparent on the body and the family opted not to have an autopsy.
In a possibly related situation Ms. PussPuss PupGirl has gone missing. Her absence was reported shortly after the discovery of her mother's body. Neither of PussPuss' cagemates were missing and the complex appeared to be completely secure. Although authorities believed this may have been a case of sympathetic death, no corpse has been found despite a complete search of the complex.
"She was here when I went to sleep," reported cagemate and sister Q-Tip, "but gone when I woke up. All our doors are locked tight, so she must have closed up on her way out."
In a situation that's definetly related to Tamblyn's premature demise it seems that the local Coronor's office needs to hire some brighter technicians. After the CSI unit was done with the scene and the coronor's people removed the body it seems they did not securely lock the remaining doors. As a result, young Ms. NewPup, Tamblyn's youngest child, quickly left the complex as well. She has neither been seen nor heard from since and all involve believe she has gone elsewhere to mourn her loss.
Mr. Oz The Hamster was heard screaming from his own complex: "This would never have happened if Foodbringer were paying atention." He was obviously referring to City Founder and Head Designer,
hammyarchitect who, under his alternate identity of
philaahzophy, had spent yet another weekend away visiting his daughter.
Original Hamopolis resident Sofie stated in a press conference: "Things are so different now. Sure, Hamopolis is growing at leaps and bounds, but at what cost? I remember when this was just a quiet bedroom community where everyone got along. I don't blame Foodbringer at all. Once a city grows to a certain size, these things a rebound to happen."
hammyarchitect himself has been unable (or unwilling) to comment on the incident thus far.
