We found a really nice 2 bedroom apartment by finding one of those real estate company's offices and just walking in and seeing if they had any units with availabilities. They did, and so we went in to look at one that was REALLY nice. It's 1200/month plus utilities and is in a really nice part of Capitol Hill. The manager really liked us too, and apparently he and one of the other people I am living with actually know each other previously but they can't remember from where. So we all filled out applications (we all have to be on the lease) and I forgot my checkbook so tomorrow I am going down to pay the deposit (300) plus the fees for background and credit checks. As long as our credit is decent we only have to play the deposit along with our rent, none of that first/last/security crap.
They hadn't even had time to advertise it yet, so we were the only ones (besides another person who is looking at the place tomorrow) who even knew about it. He said that once I come down tomorrow to make the deposit, he's gonna ask the other person if they want to cancel the appt. and stuff, so he seems pretty gung-ho about renting it to us.
The only thing that sucks is that if I want to walk to school it'll take about 40 minutes because it is all the way north on the road where group and my counseling is, about 7-8 blocks up probably. Luckily mom gave me her bike.
I'm so excited! :D
