TODAY = SO GOOD
Omg you guys my course was so fucking good today!!! WE MADE INSTALLATION SCULPTURE ART OUT OF STRING
I fucking love string
Those of you who know me well may be aware of how much I love string. IT'S A LOT. When the tutor mentioned it I got REALLY EXCITED and then was disappointed when he spent another fifteen minutes explaining stuff because I REALLY WANTED TO GET STARTED
STRIIIINNNNNNGG!!!
So yeah we had to split into groups of four and discuss ideas and stuff, and none of us knew how to do it because we're all awkward young people who didn't want to like offend each other. Eventually one of the boys just wrote everyone's name down on a sheet of paper and I was like GENTLEMEN WOULD YOU LIKE MY HAT and we drew names out of a hat and that worked fiiiine. My group was pre good but a lot of the other people in the course don't think outside the box enough for me which is kinda frustrating. They kept being like OKAY WHAT DO WE WANT THE MESSAGE TO BE and I was like ungh you guys art does not have to have a message it can be an exploration of ideas stop it!! WE DON'T HAVE TO MAKE UP SOME STUPID FUCKING BULLSHIT LIKE "LIFE IS LIKE THIS TANGLE OF STRING". I PROMISE!!!
Anyway, ours was fucking ace; it was in a corner and it sort of ... an area which had a doorway defined by string tangles, and on one side they were very very loopy and drapey and organic and then the drapes sort of merged into very geometric angular string patterns we tied up on the other side. IDK how to describe it but it was pretty fucking ace. I put a chair in there and sat in it during lunch hour 8)
IT WAS TOTES MY IDEA TO DO A DOORWAY and I was real proud of how ours was the only one you could sort of... experience from the inside AND the outside since everyone else's was very "YOU CAN LOOK AT THIS IT'S A THING". Ours was a lot more three-dimensional. I know it's not like it was a CONTEST but if it HAD BEEN ours TOTALLY WOULD HAVE WON 8|
Anyway at lunch time I went to this sandwich place and the sandwiches were fucking awful but they had this great big RUG on the wall and on the rug
was
a depiction of Princess Diana's face. So that kind of made up for it. ALTHOUGH SOMEHOW I GOT LETTUCE ON MY COLLARBONE????
Anyway yeah in conclusion TODAY = SO GOOD
