answering questions: whither children?
I was asked: "A meta-question: would it be obnoxious to ask you when you are going to have kids? I generally hate it when people are a "nudge" about this issue, but in this case, it's clear that you really want to have kids. So I'm not being a nudge, you just really have me in suspense."
Nah, it's okay. :) I'm hoping to be in a position to start trying later this year, actually. I've been getting some medical stuff taken care of first, and we are also looking into what it would take to buy a 2-family home with our housemates.
One thing that I'm hoping I can make work to my advantage: By this time next year, I will have earned a 3-month sabbatical at work, and I plan to ask about the possibility of using that time to ease back into work on a functionally part-time basis after the standard 3-month maternity leave. I don't know if they'll agree, but it would be great if they'd allow it.
