It's a hell of a town! I sure do love visiting and crawling the streets at all times of day and night, sampling tasty foods, watching people and overhearing amusing snippets of conversation, taking in the sights and smells and sounds. I have a long Cat Fud entry or two to write about eating at the following places: Brasserie Les Halles, Tavalon Tea Bar, 'wichcraft, Counter, Otafuku, and Morrell's Wine Bar & Cafe.
Seen on a twenty-something man of Indian subcontinent descent: A T-shirt emblazoned with “F IS FOSHIZZLE”.
Heard yelled by a young man dashing down 46th St. in Times Square: “Katie! KATIE!!! I married you!!!”
Heard scoffed by a young woman walking slightly ahead of us when the young man at her side noticed the person in costume with a certain tall, red-and-white striped hat: “That’s not Dr. Seuss, you asshole, that’s Cat in the Hat.”
Trowa and I walked through Rockefeller Plaza to see the giant, lit Christmas tree, the skaters, and the throng of tourists. We briefly considered taking the lift to the observation deck, but abandoned that idea when we heard there was a wait of at least an hour. Instead, we went over to Morrell's to sample some wine, and now I really want a few bottles of
NV R. L. Buller & Son Premium Fine Muscat. That was indeed a fine, fine glass of muscat.
My littlest cousin, H, is just shy of a year old and is cute, inquisitive, and babbling up a storm. I got some quality baby time, some short video clips of him playing, and a few cute photos of him with Trowa. Awwwwww. :)
And it snowed! It snowed enough to have a little snowball fight and for someone to have made a tiny snowman. Even better, there was snow back home when we returned. Yay!
