Well, after a turbulent two months, we are settling nicely in Lawndale. I'm working alot at the casual hall right now, which is the excuse I'm using as to why I haven't written sooner. I've nearly doubled my hours in two months, and people are saying that it's not going to slow down that much during the slow season. Although I am encouraged, I am not convinced that I won't have to work on the side. So I do have a number of hustles on the side.
1. Delivery/phone assistant/silkscreenr - Kindalike
2. Sales (not set in stone yet) for Modern Construction
3. Helping out my Dad (no recent work though)
Between the hall and job #1, and studying various things for job #2, I haven't really had time to do much of anything other than sleep. So I apologize for not being around, but please bear with me, it's not going to be like this forever. When things settle down in a few years, I promise to rekindle relationships with those of you I haven't seen in forever.
In other news, Cassandra is now working at a non-profit company called Hope For Hearing, which helps people that are hard of hearing procure hearing aids at prices they can afford. It is part time work and she is enjoying the flexibility, the time off, and the change of pace from her old job. The cats are adjusting well. Mary, who was never any sort of problem, is still indoors in our room. Pippin and Junior, who were causing problems, are adjusting to living outside. Pippin took to the outside like a fish to water. Junior is still a work in progress. We should be moving to San Pedro in January or February, where we will stay until....well....who knows, but we have no plans to move anywhere in the next five years, so there you go.
I have grown so fond of the South Bay, I have taken to calling any part of LA County north of LAX 'Lancaster'. As in 'I can't believe I have to make reservations to go to the Griffith Observatory. I mean, afterall, it IS in Lancaster.
In still other news, we have made tentative arrangements (read 'in our heads') to have our real wedding at the Cabrillo Bathhouse Ballroom in San Pedro. It's a restored 1920's ballroom on the second floor no more than 50 yards from the beach. It's gorgeous. We'll keep you posted.
Talk to you all soon!
