Kyuhyun is a solo idol who resents appearing on variety shows until he meets Super Junior's Sungmin.
a/n: I'm posting parts 2 and 3 at the same time because part 2 is short and especially lame. Some information from SJ's 090413 appearance on 'Come to Play' is used briefly in this part.

Kyuhyun stared wide-eyed as Sungmin and three of his fellow group members danced center stage, their backs to the other guests on the show. A wide array of monitors played back the various angles that the audience was seeing so they weren't left out, and Kyuhyun would’ve had a hard time picking which screen to watch if he weren’t so busy staring at Sungmin’s backside.
Sungmin and he had been ushered quickly onto the set some twenty minutes ago. Stylists had hurriedly fluffed their hair, straightened their clothes, and patted their faces with powder at the very last minute. Kyuhyun had watched Sungmin out the corner of his eye - the other boy sitting a few seats away and a few paces in front of him on stage - as he giggled and half-heartedly fought with the make-up crew.
That version of Sungmin seemed worlds away and yet entirely in sync with the version before him now, thrusting his hips suggestively, twirling about with precision, sliding along the sleek stage floor in perfect unison with his group mates. Apparently there were in actuality twelve members - Super Junior, they were called - but it was difficult for them all to appear together. Kyuhyun had listened as the leader - he couldn't remember his name - had recounted the woes of productions not having enough microphones, conflicting schedules (apparently they weren't just singers and dancers, but MCs, actors, radio DJs, etc), and members falling offstage when it was overcrowded with the whole group (Sungmin shamelessly replied "Yesung hyung" at the expense of the member who wasn't present to defend his honor when the host asked who was the unlucky member).
Still, with only four members present, the performance was powerful for Kyuhyun who lived under a rock and had never seen them before as far as he could remember. The name was familiar, and he recognized the song - Miinah, they had called it - from somewhere. And yet it was almost painful watching them now. Kyuhyun felt like pulling his hair out again - why didn't he know about this?
They were only performing part of the song, a chorus and dance break for the host's amusement, but Kyuhyun's eyes followed Sungmin's movements for every second, jaw hanging open unabashedly. When it was over and the audience was on its feet, shouting with applause, Kyuhyun slowly began to clap, a delayed response as awareness came back to him.
"Very nice," the host said, laughing when a member started body popping in response to the audience's call for an encore. He reached his hands out to quiet them. "I was watching, I promise, but it also looked to me like Kyuhyun-ah had never seen such a thing before," the host was laughing as the camera played back Kyuhyun's expression for the whole set to see again.
Embarrassed at having been caught, Kyuhyun shrank back in his seat and buried his face in his hands to hide his smile and laughter as the audience applauded his priceless expression. This was why he hated variety shows and promotions. He always forgot he was on camera and ended up embarrassing himself.
"Kyuhyun-ah, step forward, come down," the host demanded, gesturing to where Super Junior was still standing at center stage, and Kyuhyun waved his hands in front of himself repeatedly.
"No, no, no no no no," he replied, still laughing but entirely serious.
"Kyuhyun-ah is trying to disobey appa," the host said, face turning serious as he looked out to the audience, who all 'ooh'd' in unison. The host turned back to Kyuhyun who gave him a pleading look, and Kyuhyun could see his own face on the monitor, which made him laugh again.
"Aish," he moaned, tipping his head back over the edge of his chair before sitting back up properly and standing up to enormous applause. All the while thinking about how much he hated his manager he trudged miserably down to the stage, hiding his face in his hands again when the host took his arm and pulled him to the space next to Sungmin.
"Right, Kyuhyun-ah," the host began. "Stop touching your pretty face, the stylists worked very hard on your make-up," he teased, and Kyuhyun burst into laughter again along with the audience, turning away to hide his face. Another set of arms came around Kyuhyun's body, pulling him away from the host. Sungmin's right hand pulled Kyuhyun's face down to his shoulder while the other patted his back in a consoling gesture.
"Host-ssi, stop picking on Kyuhyun-ah, or his fans will mob you after filming," he scolded, patting the back of Kyuhyun's head carefully. Kyuhyun couldn't help his laughter, and yet being held by Sungmin was doing strange things to his body temperature and not helping his flushed complexion in the slightest.
"Is this true?" He heard the host ask, presumably addressing the audience, and a resounding 'yes!' was shouted back at him. Kyuhyun lifted his head to see the host bowing on the ground before the audience and buried his face back into Sungmin's neck for a moment before composing himself and standing back up. He bowed politely to the audience also, offering them a thank you, and straightened his suit jacket slightly before turning to shake Sungmin's hand formally, thanking him as well.
Sungmin offered him another one of his sparkling smiles but Kyuhyun couldn't help noticing it was different than the smiles he offered in private, like when they'd been found by the station employee to come on stage.
"Right," the host said, feigning a flustered attitude whilst adjusting himself. "Kyuhyun-ah, you are not a dancer, correct?" He asked, and Kyuhyun's face reddened further, feeling strangely ashamed instead of just embarrassed.
"Right," he muttered, shifting his weight away from the host slightly. He could feel Sungmin's hand press against the dip of his lower back for a moment, and warm breath ghosted against his ear.
"Neither is host-ssi," Sungmin teased, and Kyuhyun burst into laughter again, bowing over.
"What is this, Sungmin-ah? Telling secrets?" The host accused.
Kyuhyun looked up to see Sungmin put his finger to his glossy lips again, like he'd done earlier, and wink at the audience. A fair amount of girls shrieked and began to clap.
The host scoffed, "how am I supposed to keep my job when all these idols keep coming on the show, acting cute? Right, Kyuhyun-ah, you enjoyed Super Junior's performance, yes?"
Kyuhyun nodded bashfully, smiling when the crowd applauded.
"Which did you like better, the music or the dance?" The host queried, and Kyuhyun scowled cutely.
"Both," he replied shortly.
The host rolled his eyes and Kyuhyun tutted.
"You aren't going to catch me off guard again," he declared. "Stop trying to make them dislike me," he whined slightly, gesturing behind himself to the members of Super Junior who had been laughing along with everyone else.
"Ah, but we could never dislike Kyuhyun-ssi," the leader promised, and the four of them bowed to Kyuhyun, who flushed further and bowed in return, murmuring a 'thank you.'
"Well since we're all friends now," the host continued, "let's have a dance. Come on, Eeteuk-ah, Eunhyuk-ah, Donghae-yah, Sungmin-ah; teach Kyuhyun-ah your dance for Miinah," he ordered, stepping away and gesturing to the open space of the stage.
The color slowly began to drain from Kyuhyun's face and more than one camera zoomed in on his horrified expression.
"What is this? Why do you look so horrified, Kyuhyun-ah?" The host asked, acting shocked.
"Host-ssi, what did I tell you about picking on Kyuhyun-ah?" Sungmin asked, prompting laughter from the audience.
"Yes, I've accepted my fate - certain death after filming - now come on, let's have a dance," he continued, gesturing again to the five idols in the center of the stage.
Kyuhyun flushed from head to toe, stepping back slightly and looking down to the side of his feet, looking like a lost child. Sungmin's hand came onto his lower back again as the members stepped closer to him. Feeling utterly humiliated and knowing it would only get worse, Kyuhyun couldn't even bring himself to make eye contact with anyone, and smiled a bit weakly when Sungmin's palm came up to touch his cheek.
"Look at him, host-ssi, you are so cruel," Sungmin cried dramatically, earning more laughter and a round of 'aww's from the crowd.
"It's ok Kyuhyun-ah, let me show you," a member said - Eunhyuk-ssi, Eunhyuk-ssi, Eunhyuk-ssi, Kyuhyun chanted in his head, trying to remember.
Nearly five minutes of Super Junior slowly showing Kyuhyun their choreography ensued with Kyuhyun blushing madly, especially when Sungmin or Eunhyuk's hands found his hips, moving them properly since Kyuhyun was challenged in the area of dance. The audience laughed and applauded all the while, and the music of Miinah crept over the speakers eventually, prompting the members to take up their positions around Kyuhyun. He was sure he would die of the embarrassment, following them almost a beat behind every time, messing up the motions more than once, burying his face in his hands again and again.
When the humiliation was over and the crowd was applauding, the four members all took their turn hugging Kyuhyun with Sungmin last, holding on for a bit longer with his arms a bit tighter. Even the host applauded and the noise started to die down when they were all straightening out their clothes and Kyuhyun was fanning his cheeks.
"Kyuhyun-ah," the host began. "I am not a terrible man; that was very entertaining - would you like to redeem yourself a bit? You can sing us a song," he offered, turning to the audience with raised eyebrows, and they erupted in applause again, excited to hear Kyuhyun sing.
Breathing heavily, Kyuhyun looked out at the audience, waiting until they had become quiet again and the host had turned to look at him.
"No," he said shortly, and everyone began to laugh at the forlorn look on the host's face. "You were cruel to me, host-ssi. Besides, I am out of shape," he said, furrowing his brow and brushing at the bit of perspiration on his forehead. "Maybe later when I've recovered," he offered, continuing to fan his still-flushed cheeks.
The crowd clapped at the promise of an eventual performance but the host scowled, clutching at his slightly pudgy stomach.
"What am I if you are out of shape? Aish," he muttered, and turned away.

afterword: my use of honorifics was intentional; if you think I used something inaccurately, please feel free to correct me. In my context, the host (lol, nameless) refers to himself as appa because of the nature of his relationship with his loyal audience and guests. In this situation, it would be like calling him "papa." I think of him as a mix between Kang Ho Dong and Shin PD. He calls his guests by "-ah" as a term of endearment, as part of the general tone/attitude of the (nameless) show, although I will admit I am not sure if this is accurate (if the vocative nature of -ah extends this far into the realm of 'terms of endearment' in Korean language/culture, etc). Kyuhyun's equals in the entertainment industry (the guests) call him by -ssi but Sungmin calls him by -ah because, er, well he sort of explains it at the end of the 5th part, but as you can see Kyuhyun is not offended by the implied familiarity.
