picture meeeeeee, a balconyyyyy...
well, i think i've finally gotten the class situation cleared up.
i had a meeting with two of the professors here today. they actually said i could just take two classes here if i want, which was pretty cool of them, but i really WANT to take four (heck, i'd love to take all of them, but i'm not THAT crazy...). anyway, after a long talk, we decided i should take three, along with the two independent research courses i have. since i've seen some of the films in the film class, and because it doesn't travel, the film professor said i shouldn't bother with it here...i can watch all of the films and come to discussions with the rest of the students if i want, but i don't need to write all of the papers and whatnot. instead, she'll let me take it when i get back to stanford as a correspondence course! yippee! so, i'm going to take the walking art history tour, the walking tour through the eyes of freud, and the walking art history class. that way i'll make the most of my time here, get to know the city the best, and learn the most about a really wide range of stuff (art, history, and psychology) that i've never studied (while i've already taken two film classes).
now i'm just trying to get everything together to teach dance while i'm here, and life will be golden. oh, except for the part where i'm still taking 20 units...riiiiiight. ah well. *sigh*
ashley and i find new stuff every single day that we have in common.
for example:
1) we both like the band athlete
2) we both have a clandestine love of stalking people (um, hello, that's the only reason i ever met gavin)
3) we both love the "tournee de chat noir" poster...i had it in my room, she has a tote bag of it.
4) we both love art but feel like we aren't really good at it at all because we're total perfectionists.
5) we both love to buy notebooks, and then we fail to fill them.
6) we're both literature/englishy type people...i'm ling, she's english.
7) we have the exact same sleeping habits...we wake up and go to sleep at just about the same time every day.
8) we eat pretty much the same stuff, so we can share everything.
9) we both have curly hair and are almost exactly the same size (i may be slightly taller)
10) we think alike and keep finishing each others' sentences.
11) we're taking all of the same classes.
12) we both are geographically challenged, which makes taking the bus interesting.
13) neither of us drink or do drugs, because of bad experiences with loved ones in the past.
there are others, but i can't remember them right now. they'll come to me later...after she reminds me of them.
it's pretty cool, though. i really love walking around the city, but i'm much happier doing it with a friend, and so far we've done EVERYTHING together. it's nice. yay for roomie!
we may end up living together in casa italiana next year, if things work out, which would make me tres happy.
