things we like about italy:
being mistaken for (real) italians
the food
our cat, cippo, with a fifth paw...located at the end of his tail
the fact that our host mamma listens to barry white and plays bridge
the word "zanzara" (mosquito)...makes talking about mosquito bites that much more fun
americano stupido commento del giorno:
our host mom asking if ashley liked the museum ("che ti ha piaciuto al museo?"), and her responding, "no thanks, i don't want any coffee"
cole telling his language partner, "thanks for noon!" ("grazie per il mezzogiorno!") (and then later expanding, "it just doesn't happen without you!")
daniel's host brother offering him onions, daniel saying "i don't like it" ("non mi piace"), the brother forlornly removing the soup daniel had been eating, daniel being very sad and confused because he loved the soup and wanted more, and then the boy telling his MOTHER that daniel didn't like his soup, and the mother calling him on it the next day.
