I know how you feel, dude. I feel the same way a lot of the time...wondering if people are being 100% honest with me when it comes to giving me their opinion. That's why I tend to be brutally honest with people. I only sugarcoat a little bit if I know the person's not going to be able to handle the brutal, in your face truth.
However, rest assured that your bombshell friend in East Lansing thinks you've got a lot of talent and the potential to be something great one day. At least, when it comes to your drawings (I can't judge on your other artistic gifts since I haven't seen them). My tip: focus on your emotions: positive, negative, whatever. Let your emotions seep through your drawings and other stuff...because THAT is what makes art unique, good even. RAW EMOTION.
On a completely different note, I was hit with a little pang when you described the girl you like as not being beautiful. Beauty is not necessary a person's exterior appearance but what makes a person glow. No girl deserves to be described as "not beautiful" (unless she is the C word). My personal recommendation for revising that statement would be to say, "She isn't gorgeous." But that's just my opinion.
And there you have it.

P.S. Your big eyes and mouth are v. attractive. xo
You're right about the beautiful thing. What I meant was that physically, she wasn't some knock-down sex goddess. But... she's def a beautiful person. ^^
Honesty, even painful honesty... is better then any sugar-coated BS.
I meant to tell ya when you were here, I totally dig the crazy hair. I want to dye mine blue but I hear it turns gray. Oh well, next summer I'm gonna do it anyway!
