Lance Proposed!

On friday night Lance proposed to me! Most people probably won't think the way he did it was very romantic but it meant something to us. I might have preferred something a little more romantic but I was surprised and happy anyways.

Lance is a fan of Texas Hold em and he got me into it when we first got together. For his birthday last week I bought him a nice set of poker chips. I was playing poker online when he suggested we play with his new chips "to save me money".

We played for awhile and then he kept going all in. With crappy cards. And I kept calling him. I didn't know what he was doing. He ended up winning all of the chips and then he gave me all of them but a short stack back and said he was going to see if he could win them back from me by going all in every time. I dealt the cards and he pulled out a box and put it in the pot. My eyes got all big and I gasped. I had to finish dealing the cards to see who "won" the pot. He got a straight and I don't even think I got a pair. He took the lid off and pushed it towards me and I said "aren't you going to put it on my finger?" and he said " I have to ask you first!" and I said "oh, ok." and so he said "Will you marry me?" and I said "yes, of course" and he put the ring on my finger.

He said he had other ways in mind to do it but he just couldn't wait. He picked up the ring the day before and couldn't wait to get it on my finger.

WOO HOO! I'm finally gonna get married!!

We are meeting with Lance's dad to discuss financing a house (he's a mortgage broker) sometime this week. My lease is up at the end of November so chances are I will end up moving into Lance's condo. We either need to rent it out or sell it when we find a house which is going to complicate things a bit. And I need to start planning a wedding!! Probably for next April but not sure yet.

I'd post a pic of my ring but I had to take it in today to get sized down a little- I was afraid it might fall off. I about cried when they said they had to keep it for a few days! I talked the lady into working it so I can pick it up tomorrow- even that is too long!! :(
