Am I now a mad hatter?
So the idea was simple...make a hat like the one on page 31 of Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion. Use the simple instructions at vertetsable.com
The result:
Frankly I think I look down right silly. Guillemin thinks I look like a Renaissance pimp.
Why oh why does the extant hat have such a large brim, when all the paintings I see of such hats have such small ones?

The crown was meant to be on the side, but I think it looks hilarious on the front. That crown is just for you

The hat looks innocent and normal when it's not on my head:
But when worn, it looks like something right out of Alice in Wonderland. I thought without a hat band it wouldn't be so big,but it's the same really. On the one hand, I love it because it is made of awesome. On the other hand, I am self conscious wearing it.
