How lovely. I'm watching a documentary on National Geographic about transgender traditions in India, Thailand and China, and a transgender kickboxing champion just returned to her home village for the first time after her change. Her father was so happy for her. I'm touched by the way he changed pronouns mid-sentence. He said something like 'It's what he wanted, I'm glad she's happy.' And he had this incredibly proud, touched, emotional look on his face talking about it. Beautiful. Especially the part where he said that he wasn't worried about her at all, and he wasn't sorry he didn't have a son anymore, because everything was fine.
