My bicycle is in the shop, owing to a minor accident-well, minor for me, less for the bike. It started when my foot slipped out of the pedal while drinking water, and things got kind of brakeless. I tried to stay on the bike path, but veered off the edge and crashed. Not terribly hard, NOT over the side of the hill, and not as fast as it could have

I'm kind of a cynical optimist in general, but for things like that accident, I tend to leap for the silver lining. Did NOT happen out in traffic, where I ride on work days, and did not result in any broken bones or other major damage. Admittedly, I ripped through the Denial/Anger/Bargaining/Depression/Acceptance stages pretty quickly:
"Maybe they can fix this in a day or two. Even though tomorrow is the 4th."
"OMG, a new crank set? That means DAYS of downtime."
"At least I don't have to buy a whole new bike, since they can order replacement parts."
"Crap, the parts will take 6-7 days to get here, and can't be ordered until Monday. I won't see that bike for at least a week!"
"Oh, well. Can't do anything about it now."
The temps are lower during the week I CAN'T bike, but were misery and careful planning all last week. Oy. Hope they stay down, regardless.
