Landen waits on the threshold of the doorway and questions the truth of what he sees.
Star-studded darkness stretches out before him, yawning sky where his own side holds the grassy hilltop on which he stands.
No one has ever (surely not, wouldn't he know?) crossed over, or maybe they simply never came back.
The fall might kill him, if that sky is real, if the image is true. Anyone else would have walked away by now, but not Landen.
He might be imagining this, but it is strange and beautiful, and the possibilities pull him more strongly than sense.
