boss: Seems like you'll have to take that in. But you should back up the data first. If you get the drive out, we have something to stick it in.
me [a couple days later with lots of little screws on my desk and the drive finally out]: okay.
boss: oh. i wish you had told me, i have a SATA drive case at home.
and to make things more fun, my screw driver just rolled through the pile of screws and made a mess and i'm not sure i even have them all anymore. time to drag one of the hard drive magnets around the carpet to see what i find
