Today is April Fool's Day

And it seems like the joke's on those of us here in Craig Hall. If anyone had the illusion that this is a nice and cozy, warm and fuzzy and peaceful place to live, you can kindly shatter that illusion now. Someone got assaulted last night; from what I heard it was attempted rape, but I think she resisted successfully. I wish I could say that with more uncertainty, but I heard this from two cops talking amongst themselves, so I'm pretty sure the information is solid.

I'd be willing to bet good money that whoever attempted it was drunk. In fact, I'd be quite surprised if he was sober.

I started watching Walk the Line last night at about ten minutes before 10 PM and finished watching it at about 12:08 PM. There weren't any cops here before I started watching the movie, but there were two cops here after I finished, and both had seperate police cars. So I guess what happened must have happened between those hours sometime.

Oh, and it's an excellent movie, by the way. I highly recommend it. The ending was a bit unrealistic, but the rest of it was good enough that I can forgive them for wanting to hollywoodise a happy ending in there.

So I am slowly but surely developing a list of phone numbers, and in some cases, email addresses of friends of mine here at Craig Hall that I want to be able to keep in touch with next semster when I'm not living here any more. Several of them I have already - Alex's and Rachel's I got last semester. I actually have both their phone numbers and email addresses, which is useful for getting ahold of Alex if I'm not in a hurry because her phone is off so much that it's pretty much worthless for getting ahold of her. And I got Wendy's phone number last semester as well.

I asked Lauren for her's on Thursday afternoon when I was going to my second Managerial Accounting tutoring session. She almost gave me hers, but then she decided to wait and give it to me later when she has a new phone since apparently Sprint sucks. I meant to ask her if it'd be easier to just give her my number and have her call when she has her new one since I have no clue when that'll be, but I didn't do that in time, mainly because I wanted to get to the tutoring on time.

And today I got Lane's and Sarah's contact information. Lane says his phone dies a lot, so he gave both of us his email address, and Sarah gave me her phone number. Lane didn't ask Sarah for her phone number, so I don't think he got it. A lot, but not all, of the people whose numbers I'm asking for are people who, like me, aren't into the wild and crazy partying that most people are into around here. I suppose we're the non-stereotypical college students in that sense.

Daylight Saving Time starts tomorrow. I got confused by the sign in the dining hall and thought it started today, but then I looked at my calendar and realized that no, it's actually 2 AM tomorrow, not today. I'm quite curious as to whether or not my atomic alarm clock will reset itself automatically. I'm really hoping it will because then my life would be a bit easier since the only things I'd have reset manually are my watch and my microwave clock. Both of which are easy to do. My watch has a two time zone feature on it, and I always have the second time zone set to whatever I need to set the time to when daylight saving time comes or goes. That's only set to something different when I go traveling to some place out of the Pacific Time Zone, which isn't all that often.

Oh, and this wins the award for the most random news entry ever.
