PSA Only you can prevent BBQ fires
When was the last time you cleaned your BBQ? Not just scraping grease off the grill before you put on yo9ur next meal, but cleaned out the bottom where the grease lands?
Well, I'd never done that and tonight I found out why I should have. I was just grilling some bacon wrapped chicken medallions when I noted smoke billowing out of the BBQ and the glow of yellow flames. I realized I had a serious grease fire on my hands.
I quickly turned off the burners, but the fire still raged. Now the smoke was black. Since the fire didn't seem to want to go out on it's own I decided to put it out myself instead. My fire extinguisher (you do have a fire extinguisher, don't you?) made quick work of the fire, and made a big mess that I just finished cleaning up.
