Hey all!! Long time no writing. Business first, things are really expensive in Paris so until I marry for money, kill my husband, and collect his life insurance, if you want something over 4 euro (aka besides a magnet or a cheap ass eiffel tower) you're going to have to pay for it. So just let me know your limit and I can get something for you if you want to specify. Also I can only bring 3 bottles of wine back, and as I don't want to have to choose I think I'll bring a bottle back for the group. If customs sees me with a crate of wine I'll have to drink it all before I get on the plane, bad things would ensue. So the deal is, I love you all, and if you don't tell me otherwise you're all getting key chains. :P
The coolness!! I went to the Loire Valley this weekend and saw four Chateaux. We started with Chambourg and Ambois and the next day we saw Chenonceau and Blois. I think Blois had the most interesting history and mixture of architechture. It's where Catherine de Medici died, and where Henri III had Le Duc de Guise assassinated. It also was a mix of Gothic and Renaissance, very cool. Chenonceau was the prettiest, it's the one that spans the Loire. Ambois was cool, but it was mostly destroyed except for a few buildings. I also couldn't take pics inside. Chambourg was gorgeous in a different way that Chenonceau, more of a middle ages layout, but with symmetry.
Anyway, good times, but exhausting! There was a mid-lent carnival going on in Tour, where we stayed the night, but I was a big dork and did homework rather than run around and dance in the street. (Kind of regret it now?) But good times are to be had and in a couple weeks I'll be backpacking through Alsace-Lorraine, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the South of France. Granted only a couple days in each in a few choice cities. But I'm really looking forward to being a stinky backpacking college student. :)
I do miss you guys though, I always end up having inside jokes with myself. The next entry will be less nerdy, but I'm not making any promises.
