Haha, today was a totally failed
day. We had planned to take a tram all the way out to Shau Kei
Wan and see the Coastal Defense Museum, but we got a late start, and
then the right tram didn't exist, and then after we had gotten onto the
wrong one (it went close, but we woulda had to have taken a cab the
rest of the way) we talked to a random French guy from Harvard who
noticed in his guide book that a) the museum was closed on Sundays and
b) even if it had been open, it would have closed an hour before, so
there went that idea.
We decided to just skip to our second plan, which was to go to Stanley
Market all the way on the south end of HK Island, so we went all the
way back to Admiralty Sta. (pretty much back where we started) to find
the right bus. We reached Stanley at around 7 o'clock... just in
time for all the shops to close. We did find a couple of cool
things at this one place, and then we hit up a Vietnamese/Thai
restaurant that had food that was too complicated to eat, and cause all
the waiters to laugh at our incompetence. We ended up home at
like, 10-something, and then continued Yossi's Woody Allen education by
watching Annie Hall, which he loved, and honestly, for all it's
over-played... so did I.
Tomorrow? Heritage Museum! And I think this time Jerry's
coming with us, so we won't get lost, and might actually accomplish our
plans -- wish us luck!
p.s. See how concise I can be when I don't have someone interrupting every two sentences?
