I'm doin' alright, no?

It's funny the hierarchy of friendship that has developed into my life. There are the peple that I used to hang out with, and have long since passed out of my life almost completely, there are the people that I wish I hung out with all the time, but want nothing to do with me, and then there are the people who I do hang out with, usually for the simple reason that there's no one else around and willing. I really suck at this inter-personal relationship thing, no?

But with all this lack-of going out I've been doing, I have gotten quite a bit done. For the past couple weeks, I've been going on a crazy cleaning/organizing spree. So far, I've cleaned off every drawer, shelf, and surface in my room, gotten rid of any number of bags of garbage and recycling, and alphebatized (yeah OCD!) all the sheet music I own and put it into binders. After that I found all the random crap that's mine from around the house, threw out most of it, and organized the rest. Man does it feel good to throw out that much useless junk!
Next I gotta go through all my books, CDs, records, and cloths and figure out what I'm taking to school (except for the records, of course). Also, I need to burn the 1000 or so mp3s I still have to disk, also for college. Maybe I'll also like, catolouge them, just for fun ;-)
In other news, I got my AP scores today. I rocked the 5 on English Language, Comparative Gov., and Music Theory (fuck yeah!) and got a 3 on Environmental, about which I could care less, cause that class can bite my unmentionables. Brandeis doesn't accept everything I've got, but with English, Theory, and American from last year, I'm still going in with 3 classes worth o' credit, so that's pretty cool, no?

Also, I've decided I'm definitly auditioning for Early Music Ensemble, not just cause the other options seem less than fun, but because period instruments are really cool! A B'deis alum that I know said she was in it for a bunch of years, and reccomended it really highly.

A significant amount of my time lately has been taken up with shopping. I've been buying guitar accessories like nobodies business -- capos, picks, thumb-picks, straps, a string winder, strings -- I found Waterstone 12-string bass strings online for only $25, whoopie! -- and now I'm looking for a good acoustic case for my Jasmine... Musician's Friend has what I want for $40. Think I can find someplace that'll beat it?

Oh, so apparently I'm going to play music for Miki's class next Tuesday. It should be pretty interesting, considering I've never done anything like this for kids this age. Her teacher says all the old stuff I learned at Alternatives last summer will work, but even in Special Ed, there's a difference between 5 and 13 year olds. So I've got a week to figure something out. Should be fun, though.

Alright, I gotta find something to do tonight, or I'm gonna go crazy.
